Bloomfield Park

Bloomfield Park is located on Blunt's Pond, and accessible from Asa's Lane. It is named for the late Bloomfield Smith who left the shore frontage that makes up the park to the Town of Lamoine many years ago.

The park is a popular residents-only swimming area for daytime use only. There are no restroom facilities, but there are a couple of picnic tables, and the waterfront by the parking area is sandy enough, and the water quite shallow so that swimming is relatively safe. Children must be accompanied by adults, and there are no after-dark uses permitted.

Winter months, when the weather is just right, makes Blunt's Pond the perfect 5-acre skating rink. Unfortunately, the weather doesn't always cooperate. The Frenchman Bay Riders Snowmobile club is located just beyond the park, and many ice fishermen set traps to catch pickerel.

Often, Bald Eagles will cruise over the pond and catch a fish or two for dinner. Other inhabitants include raccoons, beaver, and ducks.

	Lamoine Beach Park Located at the end of State Route 184, Lamoine Beach features over 1,000 feet of coarse sand and pebble shoreline. There are picnic facilities, an outhouse and new for 2004 a bicycle rack. Many like to wade in the calm, cool salt water of Frenchman Bay, while others enjoy laying on a blanket or lawn chair and tanning in the sun. A great picnic spot with a view of Bar Harbor. When cruise ships are anchored there, there is a clear view of many of the ships. The Independence Day Fireworks are often visible from Lamoine Beach, and quite a crowd gathers to celebrate America's Independence.
