(Lamoine) — With the resignation of Chairman Perry Fowler from the Planning
Board following his election to the Board of Selectmen, the Board selected vice-chair
Gordon Donaldson to lead them until July. Donaldson is the senior member of
the board which has experienced an influx of new members in the past year.
Replacing Fowler on the Planning Board is current Board of Appeals Chairman
Melody Havey. Ms. Havey is an Assistant Attorney General specializing in Child
Support Enforcement. Though several others were interested in Planning Board
service, all said they favored Ms. Havey’s appointment because of her
legal background. That opens a position on the Board of Appeals, likely to be
filled by alternate Chris Tadema-Wielandt. At least one Alternate Appeals Board
position, and possibly two will be filled by the Selectmen.
