(Lamoine) — Lamoine’s Conservation Commission has drafted a proposed
ordinance regulating activities at the town’s two parks (Lamoine Beach
and Bloomfield Park), and sent it to the Planning Board. The proposed ordinance
would re-establish a 5-member parks commission. Town meeting did away with the
Parks Commission many years ago. At one time the parks commissioners were elected
officials.
The new ordinance would empower the commission to suggest rules and hours
of operation to the Selectmen, and to issue permits for gatherings greater than
25-people to use the park. It’s a 2-page document that will receive review
in April.
