Roads Posted

(Lamoine) — Forget the robins or the crocus—the first sign of spring reads “Heavy Loads Limited”. The MDOT posted some state roads on March 1st, but the newly rebuilt sections of Routes 204 and 184 can now withstand the heavy truck traffic, and were kept open. The open state roads no longer isolate all the local roads, so the Selectmen authorized the Road Commissioner to post Shore Road, Asa’s Lane, Mill Road and Buttermilk Road to heavy truck traffic. The posting will stay up until the road beds thaw enough to avoid heavy truck damage.

Bangor Hydro has requested permission to install new service on posted roads. The request is under consideration by the Selectmen.
