Aging Oil Tank At Fire House to be Replaced

(Lamoine) — Hoping the head off a potential disaster, Fire Chief George “Skip” Smith has informed the Board of Selectmen he is seeking prices to replace the heating fuel tank at the fire station. The current tank was installed when the station was constructed in 1990, and rust has started to show on the underneath of the tank.

The fire department sought bids from local plumbing and heating contractors. The lowest estimate for repair came from Hancock Oil for just over $800. The tank was replaced April 1st.
