(Lamoine) - A lot of bright yellow signs will grace Lamoine on Saturday, April
10th, as walkers raise money for Hancock County Habitat for Humanity. The
fund raising event walking route starts at St. Andrew’s Church on Route
184, follows that road to Shore Road, making the loop, then following Route
184 back to the church. Participants will seek pledges to raise money to continue
Habitat’s local house-building efforts. Several “way stations”
will provide food, drinks, bathrooms and resting spots along the 14 mile route.
Participants can also stop to visit the Lamoine Habitat House currently under
construction. For more information, call Carolyn Ackerman at 667-8124 or Linda
Beauvais at 667-7989 to walk or make a pledge. Motorists are asked to be especially
careful to watch out for pedestrians and to say hello.
