(Lamoine) - Seal Point Road resident Dennis Ford has accepted the Code
Enforcement Officer’s (CEO) job following the death of John Holdsworth
(see page 1). Mr. Ford is a retired auto mechanic who offered to train
to become the Deputy CEO during 2003 for “something to do, because
I have the time”.
During his tenure as Deputy CEO, Mr. Ford conducted inspections of Lamoine’s
gravel pits and filled in during times in which the CEO was unable to
be present to process building permit applications.
The Planning Board offered up a number of proposed changes to the CEO’s
job description in order to get more staff input on applications pending
before the Board, and Mr. Ford agreed to try out the new description on
a six month basis with the Board of Selectmen. Also under study will be
the manner of compensation. The CEO currently receives a salary, but works
a lot of hours during summer months.
