The Ellsworth Amateur Radio Club held its field day at Lamoine Beach the
last weekend in June. Despite a rainy Saturday, the HAMS made contact
with 300 other HAMS around the world in a 24 hour span. Above, operators
erect one of the antennae used for send and receive Amateur Radio signals
all over the world. The event also marked the debut of the new Emergency
Management Trailer obtained by the Hancock County EMA in the event of
an emergency that might need a mobile command post.
