(Lamoine) — The project to paint the interior of the Fire Station is on hold after no one submitted bids to the Board of Selectmen. Chief Skip Smith figures that painting contractors are already booked for the season, and the invitation to bid asked that the project be completed by mid-October.
The Selectmen have encumbered the funds approved at town meeting in March 2003 in anticipation of putting the project out to bid again, and scheduling it so it might fit contractor schedules a bit better. Approximately $6,200 is set aside for the project.
