(Lamoine) — The stork arrived twice in Lamoine this quarter. Welcome to Quentin Kimball Pileggi who was born on May 17th at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. His dad, Daniel, works for the law firm that represents the Town, and Mom (Bronwyn) is a choral director and one of Hancock County’s finest singers!

Also welcome to Megan Elizabeth Corrigan who was born on May 31st in Blue Hill. Megan came to visit when she was just 8-days old as her mom came in to vote. Her parents, Brian and Jennifer are long-time Lamoine residents who are in the process of building a new home on Falcon Lane.

Three marriages took place in town during the quarter. Jeffrey Stone and Lisa Trefts were married on May 1st. A funny thing happened on the way to get the marriage license. The town office in Franklin, where both reside, was sealed off due to a police investigation, so the clerk was not available to issue the license. It was Friday afternoon, and the adjacent town, Hancock, was also closed, as they normally are on Fridays. That left Lamoine, and after getting special dispensation from the Maine Office of Vital Statistics, the license was issued.

John Michael Scott & Kristy Litwinski were married on June 5th. Neither should have any trouble carrying the other over the threshold—they’re both world champion weight lifters!

Michael Butler and Kathy Beal were married on June 12th in Lamoine. They reside on Shore Road.

We lost three residents during the quarter. Bob Abelson of Meadow Point Road died on April 15th. He was a retired Psychology professor at U-Maine. Many colleagues and neighbors gathered to remember Dr. Abelson at a memorial service at his home in May.

Bernice Willard of Douglas Highway passed away on June 2nd. Mrs. Willard was a long time resident of Lamoine.

John Holdsworth passed away on June 9th (see article on page 1).
