PATRONS History
PATRONS was organized in 1971 and is the name of the parent-teacher organization of the Lamoine School . We are a volunteer group that meets monthly. Since it's formation, PATRONS has been a fundraising group for the school. Over the past few years we have been able to branch out into new forms of fundraising, such as through Box Tops 4 Education, Schoolpop and Funding Factory. Along with continuing the support of our students and teachers (look at our list of annual events to the right), these non-traditional fundraisers have been a huge benefit for our group helping us to save over $8000 towards a new playground. *All of our Funding Factory recycling (cell phones, ink and laser jets) goes directly to the playground fund.
Events and Accomplishments
HALLOWEEN PARTY Each Year PATRONS sponsors a Halloween Party for youth up through 5 th grade at the school. Bring the kids & have fun!
U 92 Dances 5th – 8th grade We open the gym up to all Union 92 5 th -8 th grade students. Come chaperone, they are always a blast!
Annual Family Night We usually have a school wide family dance. Got any other ideas for a family fun night? We'd love to hear them! J
Meet the candidates night Here's your chance to find out what's really on the candidates mind! Come ask questions or just listen.
Town meeting Come enjoy dinner and socialize before the meeting. Support us by making a dish, helping to serve, or just buying dinner!
Teacher appreciation awards PATRONS celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week by awarding money to the teachers and faculty to purchase items for their classroom or office use. Last year we awarded over $1200!
Lamoine patrons scholarship Lamoine Seniors are encouraged to apply for our $200 PATRONS Scholarship. Recent years winners include: Richard Veysey, Richard McMullen and Jaimie Pinkham.
Kindergarten social / 1 st grade intro This is a new annual event! Last spring all Kindergarten parents were invited to meet with Mrs. Jordan and Mrs. Duym to discuss transition into 1 st grade. We also gave out Kindergarten “year books”!
Honor Roll Acknowledgement We all know the importance of recognition. At the end of the year, we award students who have worked hard to keep their grades up with certificates and pins.
Jina's Gym – ongoing What a tragedy we've endured losing Jina Haslam. PATRONS proudly supports Jina's Gym fundraising. In August our community dance raised almost $3000! This will be an annual event as long as it is necessary.

Hmmm... Is it for me?
If you want to meet other parents, be more involved with the school and school events, this is a great place to be! We understand how difficult it is for some people to schedule “just one more meeting”. Some of our members regularly attend meetings, some occasionally, while others only communicate by email or phone. That's fine with us! We are always looking for a core group of dedicated volunteers, but we also need MANY “occasional helping hands” to get all the jobs done! We invite you to join us on whatever level YOU feel comfortable with. Please give us your email address so we can add you to our membership list and keep you informed and up to date on events.
