ATTENDING: Angie Butler, Chrystine Emigh, and Debbi Curtis
PRESIDENT
· Scholarships – As far as we know, only previous Lamoine Seniors
are in Ellsworth High School and MDI High School. We should have any/all applicants
before our next meeting. At that point we will go over them and pick (1) one
$100 scholarship recipient.
· Only other business to discuss is upcoming dance.
· PLEASE LOOK FOR YOUR NAME BELOW SO YOU REMEMBER WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO
LUAH DANCE – Friday March 18th 6:30-9:30 pm
1. Chrystine will email Faith Perkins with the following list of items needed
(to see if Faith will call for donations again)
· ITEMS WE NEED DONATED:
· 4 Pizza’s (Deb will bring 2 for a total of 6)
· 24 – 36 12 ounce water bottles (wal*mart has a great special
on this)
· 1 or 2 12 packs of Sprite
· Six 2 liter bottles of Ginger Ale or Two or Three 3 liter bottles (for
the punch)
· Just a couple Baked Desserts such as: Brownies, Rice Crispy Squares,
Cookies
· Small packs of Gum (buy them by the 10 pack)
· Candy Bars
· Plates (we are all set on napkins and cups
2. Chrystine will bring Cheese and Nacho Chips
3. Angie will bring Blue Punch to make Blue Lagoon Punch to sell by the cup
4. Deb will bring pineapple chunks and cherries – Angie has the umbrella picks
5. Chrystine and Deb will be making centerpieces for the tables, as well as bringing fish decorations
6. Brett will make a Limbo Rack – Angie will bring the prize… also; maybe use the bubbles for prizes??? Regardless, not till the end… too slippery for the dance floor.
7. Deb will ask Mike Arsenault for the stuff to rope off DJ Bill Butler’s equipment
8. Chrystine will make up “NO REMITTANCE” signs for the doors
9. CHAPERONES AND HELPERS – We only need a total of 10 people to help
out. Chrystine has a list started… if you’d like to help –
please let us know. The people who chose to help decorate and set up will need
to be at the gym at 4:30pm. We will also need a few people who are able to stay
after and clean up. We would like to have at least 2 men, Brett and possible
Maury Oliver….
QUESTIONS we need to ask Lisa Branch:
Balloons?? Helium?? Are we doing that again?
Ice – where did we get it before… can we get it again?
Table Cloths…. They were a nice touch… can you bring them again?
Cups, Napkins and Nacho Boats… are we all set on that?
OTHER ITEMS WE DISCUSSED
1. THE SCHOOL PODIUM – That has been our fundraising goal for these dances… we decided we SHOULD order it ASAP so that we have it for the Graduation. Chrystine will talk to Val. We should have no problem paying for it after this dance and the one in May
2. Also – a few ideas were thrown around for the 70’s dance in
May (May 16th)
· We want to open that one up to the 5th graders
· Face Painting to go along with the 70’s theme
· Note on the poster – to wear 70’s attire
· Penny Candy to sell
3. Also – next meeting we want to discuss the possibility of a street dance or family dance for the summer.
