Lamoine PATRONS Scholarship
· We only have Lamoine seniors at MDI and Ellsworth. We picked the scholarship application deadline as May 15th. Angie will get a note out to the high schools. IF YOU KNOW OF ANY LAMOINE SENIORS, TELL THEM TO APPLY!

End Of The Year TEACHER APPRECIATION AWARDS
· Hurray! With the success of our breakfast sales, we will be able to give a BIG THANK YOU to our teachers! We will be awarding $50 to all full time teachers and $25 to part time teachers to purchase supplies or equipment. Laura will put together a letter, and get it to the teachers on May 3rd, as that is the start of Teacher Appreciation Week. We will ask the teachers to order on either schoolpop.com or boxtops4education.com. Then all they need to do is submit their receipts to us and Lisa will immediately give them a reimbursement check! Also, teachers may choose to combine their allotted money with other teachers to purchase larger items (like a new printer etc.) The list of teachers we came up with: (please, let us know if we forgot anyone!)
· Full Time : Mrs. Jordan; Mrs. Treadwell; Mrs. Duym; Mrs. Bonney; Mrs. Davis; Mrs. Brooks; Mrs. Duffy; Mr. Barlow; Mr. James; Mrs. Hawthorne; Mrs. Boshko; Mr.s Harris – resource room; Mrs. Betty Anderson; and Mr. Perkins. 14 people = $700
· Part Time: Mrs. Morse – phys ed; Mrs. Haugh - art; Mrs. Veysey - library; Mrs. Miller - Gifted & Talented; and Nurse Jackie. 5 people = $125

Honor Roll Recognition
· We will ask Cheryl Curtis if she would be willing to present the Honor Roll Awards again this year. We recognize all students who have achieved honors or high honors for at least 2 of the first 3 quarters.
· Lisa will make up the certificates and check on pins. If we need more, she will get some. We need to check with Betty for a list of honor roll students.

Bingo
· End of the year Bingo for K-5… we checked the closet and it looks like we should be all set on prizes for this year.

Breakfast
· We are very thankful that we have been able to do the breakfast this year, as it has given us enough profit to present the teachers with end of the year awards! We are in hopes of being able to do the breakfast again next year… we will need to go over everything with Val in the fall. If we continue the breakfast next year, we will come up wit an approved list of foods to sell.

End of the Year - SCHOOL WIDE DANCE!!!! Friday May 14th 6:30-9:30pm
· As we had previously decided, we will donate $100 towards bringing Kelly Holyoke BACK to Lamoine to teach the kids some fun dance moves. I have asked Mr. Perkins to ask Kelly if she would be able to join us for a SCHOOL WIDE DANCE the following week… Let’s hope she can!
· We are planning a LUAU theme for this event, and will encourage everyone to dress in Hawaiian attire!
· This will be a SCHOOL WIDE DANCE for ALL CHILDREN in grades K-8, and their parents. Any child 4th grade and younger MUST be accompanied by an adult. (This went over great in Surry, and should be a blast!) We want to keep this an affordable, fun, family event, with the focus taken OFF it being a fundraiser. Admission will be only $2.00 per person (students and adults), with a MAX of $10 per family. This admission will cover our DJ (he will receive $1.00 a head) and our costs. Any extra money made is great, but that is NOT the focus of this event…. We want everyone to have a FUN time for little money!
· Angie or Lisa will order Leis to give out at the dance – the kids loved them last year.
· Limbo Limbo Limbo…. Always a hit
· Decorations – we will use up what streamers we have left. Angie will look online to see if we can find any luau decorations fairly cheap. Shouldn’t take too long to decorate, and we will only need a few helpers.
· Chaperones – this shouldn’t be an issue at this dance. There should be enough adults around to keep everything under control. We will ask a few of the regular helpers to man the door and kitchen.
· Concessions will be on sale… what do we need / want to sell?
o Hot dogs – we will NEED to get these (Chrystine may be able to get some donated)
o Soda – Lisa will check, we NEED Coke and Sprite definitely
o Water – Lisa will check, but we will probably NEED more of this
o Punch – Angie will bring in Punch and more pineapple, but we will NEED 3 or 4 bottles of gingerale to mix the punch. We are all set on the picks for the fruit.
o Clear cups – we will NEED a bag or two of the 8 oz ones.
o Candy bars – we will need more
o Gum – we are all set on Mint, but could use other flavors
o 1 Batch each of Brownies and Cookies – We will need someone to do a little baking!

4th Grade Bar B Que – Box Tops Winners
· We are trying to line up the bar b que with the 4th grade field trip… Lisa is planning this out with the teacher.

NEXT MEETING – May 17th at 7PM This will be the LAST meeting of the 2003 / 2004 school year. As always – if you have any questions, or suggestions, please let one of us know! J
