Administrative Assistant's Report for Meeting of May 25, 2006
A soggy greeting. The April showers are a month late – but be thankful we don't live in York County . I'm preparing this pretty early as I'll be out of the office from Wednesday through Friday at training conferences.
Minutes – I hope to have minutes ready before your meeting from tonight's meeting if possible. I suspect the minutes won't be very complicated, as only minor notes from the workshop are likely, and the formal meeting part should be quite swift.
Meet with Ronald Simons – Mr. Simons requested to speak with the Board. I'm not sure what he wants – I suspect permission to start selling his other lots. He has moved the road and planted the trees as requested and on time. Dennis has sent you a memo on the compliance and I have drafted a letter for you to sign to send to Mr. Simons.
Parks Commission/Boat Ramp – The Parks Commission asked to talk with the Board about repairing the boat launch ramp at Lamoine Beach .
Tree Debris Removal Bidders – I've written to the two bidders on the tree debris removal project. Harald Huebner said he was under the impression that all the standing dead trees were to be cut. When I explained the intent was to take only the stuff that was falling or leaning badly and chip it up, he said that wouldn't take much time at all. Both bidders were invited to this meeting.
Roads Consultant – A separate report from Dennis and me is in your packet. We had a very productive session with Mr. Curtis.
Request by Jr. Tracy to buy Rhododendron – Mr. Tracy said he would like to purchase the plant that is on the Anderson lot. I've also had numerous inquiries about the two maple trees on the lot. Is this something the Board wants to get into? There is still some cleanup on the lot that ought to be done – fence is falling, some debris left from older buildings.
Personnel Appointment Status – The list I've got going is in your packet. The Planning Board has an additional vacancy – Lance Landon is apparently not able to serve any longer as an alternate and should be replaced.
Warrant 24 – Several training bills on this warrant. Ed Farnsworth went to Baltimore to get maintenance training on the Homatro rescue tool – we have meals and motel for him. I went to Augusta for a 2-day tax collectors/treasurer's conference, and there is a motel bill for that. I also have mileage as I've filled a sheet.
Cash & Budget Report – With just over a month to go, we've already collected more than the amount of revenue that was budgeted. Expenses are slightly under projections. We will end the budget year very strong!
Checking Account Reconciliation – Since I forgot to have you do this on the 16th , it'll be at this meeting.
Next Regular Meeting – I believe the meeting will be in 3-weeks, prior to the special town meeting at the school. I have nothing on my schedule prior to that.
That's all I have to report for now.
