Administrative Assistant's Report
For meeting of May 17, 2012
This is a pretty short turnaround between meetings with the delayed meeting of Monday. Thankfully, there is not a lot that needs immediate attention.
I have a baseball game to ump in Ellsworth beginning at 3:30 PM. It will end no later than 5:45 which will give me plenty of time to be at your meeting. The weather has not been kind to baseball this spring.
Minutes – Thanks as always for the extra eyes.
Warrant 22 – A short one so far, but it'll be large as the school bill is on here. We potentially will have a paving bill, but I don't think that will hit until your first warrant in June. Tentatively, the paving will be done the week of May 14 th . I purchased some Cable TV gear at Radio Shack (microphones, and MP3 player to replace the CD player that has a fried motor).
Cash & Budget Report – As of today (5/9), we're less than $20,000 behind on excise tax, and collections have been brisk. We're also sending out 30-day notices on property tax this week, so that will boost collections before liens are placed in June. Expenditure wise, we're doing OK.
Investment Management Report – The electronic version is on line. I'll have a hard copy at the meeting if you wish to review it.
Checking Reconciliation – You OK'd the reconciliation at the last meeting but I didn't have the printed form on which to sign off. I'll have that for this meeting.
RSU 24 Withdrawal Vote – Let's discuss the format of the public hearing and the dissemination of campaign materials (briefly).
MUBEC – I sent out the memo that will go to the Planning Board and got a thumbs up from two of you. I may hear back from the board after their workshop on May 15 th .
Commercial Trash Hauler Application – I've spoken with Rusty and he should have the application in by the time of the meeting.
Roads – Perry Fowler has installed two new culverts on Shore Road where the paving will take place – the culverts that were removed had completely rotted after about 15-years. The new ones are plastic. As mentioned above, paving may take place next week.
Bureau of Labor Standards Compliance Report – I've copied the report that is going into the Bureau of Labor Standards by the May 15 th deadline. We have addressed everything in the citation.
Contract – me – I appreciate you looking over the draft before blindly signing anything at the last meeting. I hope you get a chance to do it. If there are changes that need to be made, please let me know.
Appointment List – There is a list of folks whose terms expire on June 30, 2012. I've not yet started to contact folks for reappointment.
Executive Session – It's Bill's turn. Review sheets will be in your packet.
Enjoy this soggy weather.
