Administrative Assistant's Report
For meeting of April 13, 2017
I’d like to say it’s nice to be back after a week in warm and sunny Mexico, and in many ways it is, but weather wise, I’d be fibbing. The work piled up while we were gone, and a couple of fire calls have complicated a few things. Our fire department had a very good showing at the Hilltop House fire the other night, but it was exhausting. Just getting caught up on sleep today (Thursday the 6th)
Thanks to Brett Jones – he quickly fixed our web server which I had rebooted earlier this week as it was not communicating with the computer in my office. All seems to working fine now.
You have a relatively short agenda.
Minutes – March 23, 2017 – Please review the minutes and submit written corrections if you could.
Expenditure Warrant 20 – The plowing bill for April (sadly, they needed to go out yesterday morning) plus the two school warrants are included and are the bulk of the transactions. We will likely need to transfer a little money into the checking account to cover the expenditures. The warrant will be periodically updated on the website and printed for meeting night.
Cash & Budget Reports – This too will be updated periodically on the website and printed for meeting night. No concerns at this point.
Checking Account Reconciliation – That was e-mailed to you earlier this week. I’ll print the one-page summary and place it in your packets.
Quarterly Excise Tax Report – That is posted and in your packet. Year is looking very strong, still.
Small Claims Court Offer – The advice from the town attorney is in your packet. You have a decision to make.
Appointments/Resignation – Melissa is stepping down as the CTV operator as time has become an issue. Amanda Frost has agreed to serve on the Recreation Committee with a recommendation from that committee to appoint her.
Donated Land – Ken Smith has completed the deed filing for the piece of land he has donated to the town. I’ll do up a thank-you letter to him.
Municipal Clerk’s Week – The state town clerk’s association has suggested an official designation. The proclamation is in your packet.
Meeting Dates – Amazing how quickly June is approaching. I will be getting out the invitations to the board chairs/department heads meeting for May 18th in the next few days. It will be very helpful to me to schedule the June and July meetings, but you are under no obligation to do so.
That’s all I have for your agenda. I have no doubt that there will be an addendum to consider on meeting night, but have not heard of any other pressing matters at the moment.
