|Report for Meeting of November 29, 2018|
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I’m writing this the day after (after getting back from a self-imposed day off). The weather continues brutally cold everywhere! I only had one plowing complaint during the past two storms, and I’m still trying to figure out what the complaint it. If it amounts to anything, I’ll let you know.
You’ve got a fairly busy agenda for Thursday night.
Minutes – November 15, 2018 – Please do the usual by looking them over and making written corrections.
Expenditure Warrant 12 – There will be a lot on the warrant as the fire chief has submitted the stipend for the fire department members. I’ll periodically update the warrant on the website. The school payroll and AP warrants for the first week in December will also be on here, so we’ll have to transfer funds from investments to checking to cover that.
Cash & Budget Reports – These too will also be periodically updated on the website.
Recreation Committee – The Rec Committee wants to discuss some issues with you to see if there is any assistance available in running the programming. I anticipate they’ll be present, and will send an e-mail reminder to them.
Transfer Station Compaction – Ken Smith will be on hand, and I’ll get some pictures of his trip to Otisfield in your packets. I’ve asked him to get an estimated price on a compactor for recycling to help cut down the transportation cost.
Permit Fee Schedule – You went over that at your last meeting. I’ve put a copy in the packets. It should be ready to go.
Smoking Policy – You approved this at the last meeting. The signature copy will be ready to sign tonight.
Conservation Commission Communications – There are separate e-mails from Larissa Thomas regarding Shoreland Violation enforcement and solar energy.
Shoreland Violation Consent Agreement – I anticipate that a proposal from Rebecca will be ready for your approval to offer to the violators to close out this matter.
Draft SZO Concerns – Three e-mailed communications are in your packet regarding the process used to coming up with a Shoreland Zoning Ordinance proposal.
Tech Committee Recommendation – The Tech Committee is suggesting we reach out again to Mike Edgecomb of Sewall Company to see what the next logical step is to expand cable coverage. I’ve not contacted him yet, awaiting your approval
Bottles Request – The Lamoine Community Arts group has requested the bottle proceeds. The next available month is February. The last time they benefitted was in December 2017.
Community Center – I’ll be working on a draft plan of attack for a community center committee. The goal is getting a place to start.
Budget Workshop – The budget committee meets the night before your meeting. I would ask that if you are able to attend the Budget Committee meeting that you do so. Your budget packets are with this packet.
February meeting dates – I don’t recall that you set dates for February. The Thursdays are the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th.
See you Thursday!
