Lamoine 150
Minutes - November 15, 2017 (Draft, subject to Correction

Co-Chair Jo Cooper called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M. at the Lamoine Town Hall.

Present were:  Committee members: Gordon Donaldson, Carol Duffy and S. Josephine Cooper; Nelia McIntire, alternate committee member; Tom St. Claire, Grange Master. Members absent: Cynthia Donaldson and Miranda Engstrom.

Review of Timeline Events:  Gordon gave a quick overview of the tentative events for our celebration.

Lamoine/Bayside Grange

Tom St. Claire attended the meeting as a representative of the Grange. He reported that the building is now insulated and can be used year round.  Tom reminded us that the Grange has a capacity of 100 people. There is a collection of old play scripts that were performed at the Grange that might be used in 2020.

These possible events at the Grange were discussed: cribbage tournament, plays, town Christmas party, and a bonfire(perhaps on February 11, 2020).

Tom has a fabulous idea for the parade.

News from Lamoine

Gordon shared news from  the December 22, 1870  Ellsworth American including the poem “Don’t Leave the Farm.”

Lamoine Quarterly

Gordon will write a piece for the next issue about our need for someone to handle our publicity.  The committee discussed the need to have a marketing specialist join our committee.

Next meeting: January 17, 2018 at the Town Hall at 5:30 P.M.

This meeting will be used to start sorting out ideas.  It’s time to decide which events we would like to push and to decide if any events need to be moved to different dates.  Committee members should look over the events calendar before the meeting and come with ideas.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:18 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Carol Duffy, Secretary
