Publicity and PR
Robin Emery asked our committee to provide funding for t-shirts for The Lamoine Half Marathon on March 2. It costs $600 for t-shirts and printing. On the day of the race, runners will pay $10 for a shirt. This money will be returned to us, and we get advertising for the Lamoine 150 on the back of the shirts.
Motion: Gordon Second: Carol Vote: 5 - 0 to provide funding
The marketing plan from Joe Albert, Husson College student, was discussed. The committee decided to create postcards for each month which will feature a picture on the front and information about events on the back. We may make this available quarterly instead of monthly. Jo and Miranda will work on this project.
Lamoine 150th Posters
Posters have arrived. One is posted at the school. Three more are stored in Stu’s office.
Three judges for the logo contest will be Nikki Chan, Lori Spruce, and Stu Marckoon. The committee needs to write specific criteria for the contest. Submissions will be due no later than May 27, 2019, at 5 P.M. On Saturday, June 15, 2019, the winner will be revealed at Town Hall at noon.
Lamoine 150 Progress Updater
Revisions were made to the planner which Gordon will update.
Gordon shared an idea for “Anniversary Evenings.” They will consist of a brief historical reading or reenactment followed by a 45-minute talk on a topic about Lamoine. The Grange is a possible venue. These will be videotaped and posted on a Lamoine 150 YouTube Channel.
Do we need a committee?
Cynthia has started exploring fireworks. We will get a responsible company for this event.
Lamoine’s week is in May. Jo will get in contact with the paper and provide Lamoine 150 information.
We currently have $28,600. Jo is going to see if the $5,000 in this year’s warrant can be increased to $10,000. Any money that we don’t use will be returned to the town. Fireworks could cost $15,000.
Possible categories include:
Cynthia will bring a spreadsheet to our next meeting, and we will fill in categories.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:45 P.M.
