Article(s) for Lamoine Quarterly - Gordon.

Gordon will contact Nelia about possible December events.

Carol will ask the Grange to decide on a date in January for the cribbage evening.

Miranda will contact the Whitners about organizing a town band.

Maine 200

No updates.

Scavenger Hunt

Carol has reserved the school for Saturday, September 28.  After collecting clues, people will travel around Lamoine taking selfies/group pictures at the selected locations.  People will gather at the school to share pictures and have refreshments in the afternoon.  The exact details of the scavenger hunt will be finalized soon.

Roadrace/BBQ

Gordon handed out information sheets about the race.  Due to cost, it was decided to make race t-shirts available to purchase at the race instead of giving them out free.  The shirts will have the Lamoine 150 logo and the race name.  We worked on budget items for October 5, 2020.

Publicity and PR

Our YouTube channel is ready to go.  Everyone can post to it using our Lamoine 150 gmail account and password.

The July Lamoine Quarterly will have information about our logo reveal and a calendar of our first three months of events.  Gordon will write the article(s).

Banner/Flags - After discussing the challenges in hanging a banner across the road, we decided to think about flags and signs instead.  Questions:  Would a group want to create flags to sell that we could also use to publicize our celebration? Should we put up a Lamoine 150 sign at the entrances to town? Marion said that we could put one on her lawn.

Postcards will be ordered after the logo reveal and will be mailed to all Lamoine families quarterly. The first postcard will feature the official logo with events listed on the back.  Future cards will feature other logo entries.  The postcards will be ordered from VistaPrint.

Logo Contest

The Lamoine 150 logo will be revealed Saturday at noon.  Artists have been invited, and the event will be shown on the town cable channel.  A poster of the winning logo is all wrapped up, ready for the reveal.

Lamoine 150 Memorabilia

No new contacts.

Calendar

We reviewed our revised calendar.

A summary page of our events was approved for the back of the Lamoine Historical Society’s 2020 calendar.

Gordon will contact Nelia about possible December events.

Carol will ask the Grange to decide on a date in January for the cribbage evening.

We need to make a list of specific events, including dates, that we want filmed for the Town Tech Committee.

Everyone needs to start writing or finding songs and poems for our Lamoine Poetry and Song Evening in February.

Town Band

We discussed organizing a town band and opportunities for them to play.  Miranda will contact the Whitners to see if they are interested in organizing a band.  Possible events: play at State Park during our final weekend, holiday party, and Lamoine Poetry and Song Evening.

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be on July 11, 2019 at 3:30 P.M. at the Town Hall.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:52 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Carol Duffy, Secretary
