	Lamoine Board of Assessors Minutes of June 3 & 25, 2009 (Draft, subject to correction)

The meeting came to order at 7:00 PM.

Present were Assessors Jane Fowler, Terry Towne, and assessor elect Michael Jordan

Minutes – The minutes of March 4, 2009 were approved on a motion from Jane and a 2nd by Terry.

Tree Growth – It was agreed to send a letter to Maine Forest Service, c/o Donald J. Mansius requesting assistance to obtain the Forest Management and Harvest Plan of Old Point, currently enrolled in Tree Growth Status

It was agreed to table action on the tree growth application of Richard and Sheryl Davis until the property has been visited and the plan has been fully evaluated.

Appraisal Work – Dates were set for completion of quarterly review visits and visits by RJD Appraisal.

Personal Property Taxes – There was no answer from Maine Municipal Association in regard to personal property tax collection. Terry said he would visit with the owner/taxpayer(s) in question.

Condemned Property – It was agreed to have Matt from RJD visit a condemned property to ascertain if there is any value in the physical property.

Lack of Permit – There was a discussion about a property owner having a deck with no building permit. E-mails will be sent to Mike Jordan, Dennis Ford, and Stu Marckoon.

There being no further business, the meeting recessed at 8:55 PM

The Board resumed the June meeting on June 25, 2009 at 7PM in workshop session. The workshop dealt with preparation for visits to new construction and to re-visit works in progress.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM
