Lamoine Board of Assessors

Minutes of July 1, 2009

The meeting came to order at 7:25 PM

Present were: Assessors Jane Fowler, Terry Towne and Michael Jordan

Minutes – The minutes of June 3, 2009 and June 25, 2009 were approved as presented without objection.

Officers – On a motion, second and unanimous vote, the Assessors positions were chosen based on board tenure as follows:

Tree Growth – Terry said he would continue to visit properties enrolled in the Tree Growth program and to seek to review harvest and management plans for compliance.

Permits – The Board reviewed the plumbing permits issued in the past year.

Other – Bunkhouses/Campsites – The board discussed meeting with the Planning Board in regard to “Individual Camp Sites” previously described as “Bunkhouses”. The Board may contact Rich Baker of the Maine DEP.

Subdivision Roads – The board discussed whether the original developer of subdivisions still owns the roads and is being tax for that; whether lot owners are paying taxes on the roads; and whether or not lot owners have ownership of any portion of the roads.

Old Point, Inc. – The board agreed the forest management plan needs to be submitted to the Board for review no later than August 1, 2009.

Next Meeting Date – The next regular meeting of the Board of Assessors will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 7:00 PM

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:25 PM
