	Lamoine Board of Assessors Minutes of January 12, 2009 (Draft, subject to revision)

The meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, 2009 was canceled due to bad winter traveling

That meeting was rescheduled to Monday, January 12, 2009 at 7PM

Chair Jane Fowler called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM

Present were: Assessors Jane Fowler, Terry Towne, Colene Sharkey and member of the public Robert Alvarez Sr.

Minutes – The minutes of December 3, 2008 were accepted as written.

Discussion – The Board talked with Robert Alvarez Sr. in regard to the valuation of his property. Mr. Alvarez said he believes he possibly needs to ask for an abatement. He said he would look at his assessment information more closely and would be in touch. Mr. Alvarez provided some 2005 survey work to the Board.

New Business

A new forest management and harvest plan has been submitted by William Haass and the Board will act on it at the February 4, 2009 meeting.

The Board reviewed a memo prepared by Terry Towne to be sent to the owners of property enrolled in the Tree Growth Tax Law Program. The Board is requesting copies of their management and harvest plans for review.

The Board reviewed all the items on the Sales Ratio Report which will be completed and mailed to the State.

The Board discussed how it would reply to a letter from Michael and Kathy Soja regarding the value of their property (Map 14 Lot 19-2)

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:55 PM
