Community Center Feasibility Study Committee

Minutes - June 17, 2019

Chair, Paul Howaniec called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Present: Paul Howaniec , Griff Fenton, Larissa Thomas, Bob Pulver, Iris Simon
General Audience:  None

Approval of April 29 Minutes:  Moved by Iris with the addition of a signature “Iris Simon, Sec. Pro Tem”. Motion seconded by Bob.  Unanimous approval.
Iris will take notes at this meeting.

Follow up of Community Survey: With only 6 organization/groups responding to the survey the committee decided on the following:
Paul will email Stu (copy the comm.) and request Stu to send a follow up email by the end of this week to those that have not responded and another reminder on June 28.
July 5th will be the final deadline.
The contact list should be kept up to date noting those that have responded.  The committee is willing to make personal contact if responses are still low after the June 28th reminder.

It was noted that Brooks Linde is no longer the contact for the church. Iris will contact Stu and suggest that the survey go to Gary McFarland, trustee.

Community input so far:  The format of the report was discussed.  It may become long and wordy as we continue to get more responses.  Committee members have offered to hi-lite and condense the responses after receiving the full report and before the July 15th meeting.

Public Contact:  The Committee is aiming for the residents of Lamoine to have the ability to respond to our questionnaire by Mid-August.  Larissa will begin to draft the document.

Publicity:  Larissa will submit an article for the Quarterly giving a “heads up” to all residents that they will have an opportunity to give their thoughts on the project by the end of the summer.

Next Meeting:   Monday, July 15  at 6:30 p.m.
Motion to adjourn by Larissa, seconded by Bob.  Unanimous approval.
Meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
