Conservation Commission Program - May 11, 2011

Eager to start digging and planting?

Lamoine Conservation Commission is offering a session to spur you on. You're invited to a program on The Ecology of Gardening with Native Plants . Julie Beckford is our knowledgeable speaker. She and her husband Pete have been growing certified organic perennials on their Clifton farm for over 20 years. Her background includes studying natural sciences in college, subsequent botany courses through the New England Wildflower Society, and many field trips across our state to learn about plants and plant communities. Her informal talk will focus on Maine's native plants and local biodiversity. Plenty of time for questions and answers, and of course, refreshments. All free. Everyone welcome. Join us from 7-9 PM, Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Lamoine Town Hall, 606 Douglas Highway (aka Route 184), in Lamoine, of course! Questions: Nancy Pochan, 664-0444 or 667-9377
