Lamoine Heating Assistance Committee

Minutes of November 6, 2014 (Draft - Subject to Correction)

Chair Jane Fowler called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM

Present were:  Committee members Jane Fowler, Kathie Gaianguest, Walter Grenier and Administrative Assistant Stu Marckoon.  

Minute of October 21, 2014: Kathie moved to approve the minutes with a few minor spelling corrections.  Walter 2nd.  Vote in favor was 3-0.

Brochure – Stu reported he had not yet started the brochure because he was waiting for committee input.  Walter said the Knights of Columbus brochure he supplied contained information for a potential donor list.  He said he had another list as well.  Jane said a one page brochure would be best, and the program information could be used.  Walter suggested one version for businesses, and one for individuals.  There was a discussion about who would approach people for donations. 

Stu said he would try to get a draft done in the next week and a half.  Kathie asked if a stated goal is needed.  The figure of $10,000 was mentioned.  Discussion followed on some brochure details.  It was suggested that having business cards with contact names and number for follow up would be helpful. 

Kathie noted that she spoke with the co-coordinator of the fuel buyers group and they need to come up with some sort of personal statement about why a solicitation is being e-mailed to them.

Application – The group reviewed a draft application form.  One redundancy will be removed.  There was a brief discussion of the application process.

Donor List – Walter said he would try to find his thumb drive with a donor list on it and send it via e-mail.  Stu said he would try to contact the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce for a member list.  The group agreed to be in touch with each other about potential donors.  The information would be posted on the town’s website, available at town hall, and sent out via the e-mail list and posted on the Facebook page.

Next Meeting Date – The group agreed to meet again on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 9:00 AM at the Town Hall.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:50 AM
