MINUTES OF THE LONG RANGE PLANNING COMMITTEE

November 22, 2005

Chairman B. Jones called the meeting to order at 7:00pm .

Members present: D. Ford, M. Garrett, B. Hanson, B. Jones, D. Macurdy, R. McDevitt, K. Rybarz, F Stocking, J. Wuorinen

Minutes: The minutes of October 18, 2005 were accepted as presented

AGENDA

1. Returned surveys were counted. 170 paper copies were returned; 75 were filed electronically for a total of 245. The first matter for consideration was to decide what now to do with the m. These decisions were unanimously reached.

a) The paper surveys were divvied up among those able and willing to enter responses into a computer.

b) All responses are to be submitted via B. Jones' on line survey so that the data can be more easily manipulated.

c) B. Jones will issue a User ID and Password to those making electronic entrees.

d) Each person tallying is responsible for written comments contained on surveys in his/her possession.

e) Written comments are to be submitted to B. Jones via a text file – Note Pad etc.

2. Copies of completed hand written survey's were distributed as follows:

F. Stocking 35

K. Rybarz 35

B. Hanson 34

J. Wuorinen 34

M. Garrett 32

3. The Committee will meet next on Monday, December 5, 2005 unless Chairman Jones decides it is not practicable. At that meeting we will attempt to make preliminary findings and discuss ways to package and distribute results. Multiple methods will be used to disseminate our findings, said methods to be decided at a later date.

4. The Committee again discussed a proposed Town War Memorial – reluctant to see the issue lie idle. Our consensus is that some body (not the Long Range Planning Committee whose job is more to plan than to execute) needs to locate an enthusiastic, organized individual to take charge of the project, failing which, the project will not likely reach fruition. The question is: “From whence comes this individual?”

The meeting adjourned at 7:52pm .

Respectfully submitted,

Michael F. Garrett, Secretary
