Minutes - April 22, 2015
Chair Bill Butler called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM
Present were: Bill Butler, Kendall Davis, Merle Bragdon, Brett Jones, Stu Marckoon
Minutes – October 22, 2014 – Merle moved to approve the minutes as written. Brett 2nd. Vote in favor was unanimous.
School Wiring – Stu said he would try to get in touch again with Connectivity Point. They have canceled a couple of times. Brett noted the school was able to put a TV monitor in the entrance area and the CTV channel could be hooked into that.
Town Hall Streaming – Committee members looked over the proposal. There was discussion about how to post the videos on line, the contract offer. The committee wished to pose questions to the company offering the service, including whether Town Hall Streams would own the content, clarification of the sentence regarding downloads, and whether the channel could be streamed live all day long. There was discussion about how to work executive sessions. Stu said the feed would come from the switcher and the power point show put on and audio turned down during executive sessions.
Brett moved to recommend to the Board of Selectmen that the town enter a contract with the Town Hall Stream service if the answers to the question are satisfactory. Merle 2nd, adding that would include a provision that Town Hall Streams does not own the content. Vote in favor was unanimous.
Programming – Brett suggested that if the school is going to produce programming, now would be a good time to discuss that with the teachers and the principal. He said he would make that contact.
Kendall noted that a tape failed in a camera when he was recording the latest Conservation Commission session. He suggested using the DVD recorder as a redundant backup. Stu noted that he purchased new tapes.
Other – The committee discussed purchasing a tool box with a variety of tools for field use. There was no objection. Kendall, Stu and Bill will take care of that.
There was a lengthy discussion about town e-mail addresses and archiving e-mail
A brief discussion followed about other public entities and recent virus infections.
Next Meeting – The next meeting will take place in May at the call of the Chair.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:15 PM
