	Lamoine Veterans Memorial Committee Minutes of June 20, 2007 (Draft, subject to revision)

Members Present: Jo Cooper, Kathleen De Fusco, Reggie McDevitt, Marion & Walt McFarland.

The committee met on June 20, 2007 and the meeting was called to order at 725 pm. Minutes were read and approved, 5 to 0.

Discussion by the committee on how the Town Meeting voting went and how we are going to proceed with fund raising.

Fund Raising:

• To list and send thank you's to anyone making a personal donation.
• Notifying townspeople and other areas by newspaper, Lamoines quarterly, local channel site & website, fund raising and grant writing letters.
• Asking local businesses if the committee can install a 2 gallon jug.
• Baked bean suppers.
• Jazz band concert with a “Big Band Theme”.
• Check with the Selectmen, if the committee can put a donation request with the tax bills.
• See if the local TV stations would be interested in doing an interview and to let other areas know.

Discussion next meeting:

• Results of checking with Karen Hawthorne about the Lamoine school band.
• Areas business for donation locations.
• Checking with Fred Wieninger on engraved pavers.
• Is donations tax deductible?

Meeting adjourned at 820 pm.

Next meeting tentatively scheduled for July 18th , 2007 .
