I reported got an e-mail from Ken Fredette, stating he has the US Flag from Senator Collin's in his office and waiting on the Maine Flag. Have to contact him on the POW/MIA flag status. We discussed when to install the flagpoles and decided anytime would be appropriate. We sold about 160 bricks, and has slowed down at this point.

Marion said Jay Barnes (landscaping) still available. We decided we would like a sketch or plan of his ideas to approve. His services are donated, but we will have to pay or get donated any bushes or plantings.

Jay states we have not gotten a definite amount from Wal-mart.

I presented 2 bills from Wieninger Monument , (1) for final payment on monument for $7120, and (2) $367.50 for lettering on batch 6 of bricks. Approved 5-0 to pay and send to Selectmen for payment.

The Dedication subcommittee updated us on their progress. They reported on the speakers, music, pastors, color guard, veterans to be present, handicap parking and seating arrangement in parking lot at Town Hall, podium, location of gathering after presentation at Lamoine School, food, contacting State police, shuttle bus from school to Town Hall. We are going to request coverage from the local newspaper and TV station. Date for Dedication is, Saturday, September 13, 2008 @ 1000 am @ Town Hall.

We discussed fund raising at Lamoine State Park on September 1, 2008 . Skip is kindly allowing us to sell cookies and ice cream for the Veterans Memorial. We will set up at 5 pm , to get ready for the crowds at 6 pm. Skip we thank you. Marion will contact Shaw's Market and I will contact Hannaford's for donations.
