Lamoine VFD Call 2004-06

Lamoine VFD crews were called to 155 Seal Point Road for a report of a chimney fire on Sunday, February 15, 2004. Upon arrival firefighters found an attic full of smoke due to a plugged chimney and ignited creosote.

At left, firefighters Steve Valleau and John Smith reattach the top of the Metalbestos chimney that had become plugged and caused the fire.

While fire crews worked outside, firefighters inside removed the fire from the wood stove and cooled the chimney down. The thermal imaging camera was used to observe where the heat was located, and to monitor the spread of any heat. Very minor fire damage was observed in the chimney area. The home was occupied with two residents who were not injured and were able to remain in the home during fire suppression activities.
