Fire Department Call January 26, 2004

The Lamoine VFD responded with 16 personnel and 3 apparatus to a call of a house full of smoke at 603 Partridge Cove Road. Three adults were in the home at the time and all were waiting outside in a vehicle and a nearby heated structure. Temperature was approximately 5-below zero. Initial responders reported the house was smoky with an oily smell to it. Investigation by the fire chief found the oil furnace with particulate matter indicating incomplete combustion. LVFD personnel set up a gas powered exhaust fan and attempted to evacuate as much smoke as possible from the home. The home owners made contact with qualified service personnel to fix the furnace.
