Fire Truck Body – Tanker
The Town of Lamoine Fire Department seeks proposals for construction of a tanker/pumper truck with an 1,800 gallon tank and 1,000 GPM pump. Sealed bids and designs shall be submitted to the Town of Lamoine, Attn: Fire Truck Body 2013, 606 Douglas Highway, Lamoine, ME 04605. Deadline for submission is 4:00 PM, Monday, July 8, 2013. The proposals will be reviewed by fire chief George Smith and a recommendation is expected to be made to the Lamoine Board of Selectmen by July 11, 2013 and an award possibly made at the Selectmen's meeting that evening. The Town of Lamoine reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids.
The Lamoine Fire Department will supply a 2013 International 7400 SBA 4x2 (SA625) chassis for the truck body. The chassis is expected to be available on July 23, 2013.
The body shall comply with NFPA Pamphlet 1903-223 requirements and meet all Department of Transportation Regulations, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and tested to Underwriters Laboratory specifications. The successful bidder shall conduct a pump capacity test, drafting test, vacuum test and relief valve test and issue a certificate showing the pump capacity and RPM, test date, serial number, and no load governed speed of the engine. An estimated construction time must be included in the bid.

To qualify, a bidder shall supply a complete body design, specifications, and cost to construct with the proposal.
