Coaling Station Display Created

(Lamoine) — Bob Alvarez loves old ships, and has a special fascination with those that utilized the US Navy Coaling Station in the early 1900’s. With an extensive collection of pictures obtained over many years and from various sources, Alvarez has put together a framed display for the town hall. A short history of the coaling station will go into the frame, along with a brief history of the USS Massachusetts, one of the North Atlantic fleet ships that refueled at the station. The frame will hang at the town hall, and Alvarez invites anyone with other items from the station to add to the collection.
