	1870 - Lamoine 150 - 2020 Great Sardine Haul - Cards Available

   The Great Lamoine Sardine Haul was organized by the “ Lamoine 150 ” Committee to celebrate Lamoine’s 150th birthday. Lamoiners were invited to participate and make and exhibit sardines to display on their property or around town to honor the town’s maritime history. Creativity blossomed everywhere! Eighty plus households were involved and the  town soon appeared like a “school of sardines” starting in April 2020  throughout the summer. It was truly magical and a wonderful distraction during the  COVID-19 pandemic.

     Penny Walls from Lamoine decided to photograph many of these sardines and make them into cards. The cards will be sold and 100% of the profits will be donated to the Lamoine Fuel Assistance Program to help fellow Lamoiners in need.

       On Saturday October 10 and 24 from 10am-12pm (Rain dates Oct 11 and 25) she will be at the Lamoine Grange showing her cards and taking orders. The cards will be available after December 1st. There are 12 assorted collage cards and individual cards to pick from. Check the Lamoine 150 Facebook page  soon to see the assortment of the collage cards. You can also place your order by sending Penny an email to [email protected] . If she didn’t happen to get a picture of your sardine she will be willing to make you  individual cards if the sardine is still available to photograph. She hopes to be able to offer these cards for sale at different locations throughout 2021.Thank you for your interest in her project.
