	Board of Assessors Minutes - September 11, 2019

The meeting came to order at 8:00 AM at the Lamoine Town Hall.

Present were Assessors Brian Thomas, Jane Fowler, Terry Towne; Administrative Assistant Stu Marckoon.

Minutes – August 7, 2019 – The minutes were approved as drafted.

Tree Growth Report – The board supplied the data for the Maine Forest Service Spreadsheet which will be submitted electronically.

Map 2 Lots 21, 21-1, 21-2 – This matter will be researched for the October meeting.

Wells Fargo Personal Property Tax Bill – A letter will be prepared for Wells Fargo and signed at the October meeting.

Tax Abatement Request – Map 8 Lot 12-1-1A & Lot 12-1 – Terry moved to deny the abatement request.  Brian 2^nd.  A letter will be prepared to be sent to Mr. Washington.  Vote in favor was 3-0.

Map 5 Lot 17 – A letter to the landowner was prepared and signed.

Property Tax Record Computerization – Adm. Asst. to the Selectmen Stu Marckoon reported he was in the process of updating the current property tax database to include a lot of assessing data.  Among the benefits will be electronic property cards.  Brian asked about being to work on the database remotely.  Stu reported that is not feasible at this time.  The board requested that Stu keep working on the matter.  He said he is doing formatting as time permits, and that should be complete in another month and a half.  He said inputting current card data may take a long time.

Next Meeting – The Board will meet next on October 16, 2019 at 8:00 AM.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:10 AM.
