	Board of Assessors Minutes - June 3, 2020

The meeting came to order at 8:35 AM.

Present were:  Assessors Jane Fowler, Terry Towne, Brian Thomas; Administrative Assistant Stu Marckoon

Minutes – March 4, 2020 – Terry moved to approve the minutes as written.  Vote in favor was unanimous.

There were no meetings during April and May due to the State of Emergency declared due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Electronic Property Cards – The board reviewed the format of a proposed electronically generated property card submitted by Administrative Assistant Stu Marckoon.  After a brief discussion the board favored the proposed format.  Stu said he would start printing the cards as he completes inputting data from the current hand written cards.  He said the data input process will likely take about a year to complete.

Abatement Request – Estate of Henry Brown (Map 13 Lot 41)  - Terry moved to deny the abatement request.  Brian 2^nd.  Discussion followed regarding the comparability to similar properties.  Brian said he was confident the town has been consistent.  Vote in favor of denying the abatement was unanimous.

Ordinance Review Discussion – Terry moved that the Board request of the Board of Selectmen that they entertain an outside review of Lamoine’s ordinance.  Brian 2^nd.   Brian asked what the request might lead to, and whether there is a more practical step.  Terry said he would like to determine that there is a problem with ordinances and enforcement and then find a solution.  After a discussion, Terry withdrew his motion.

Next Meeting – The board will meet next on June 23, 2020 at 8:00 AM at the town hall.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:00 AM
