Minutes - May 5, 2021

 

The meeting came to order at 8:10 AM.

 

Present were Assessors Brian Thomas & Terry Towne.  Assessor Jane Fowler was unable to attend.

 

Homestead Reimbursement and Ratio Declaration – After reviewing the applications for homestead exemption and the current number of exemptions, the state form for reimbursement was completed, with a 95% ratio declaration.  The form was e-mailed to Maine Revenue Services.

 

Minutes – April 7, 2021 – The minutes were approved as written.

 

Map 14, Lots 24, 58 and 65 – The board approved of referring these lots to appraiser Matt Caldwell this spring, noting that the building on Lot 24 was removed prior to April 1, 2021, and there is a written report showing that lots 58 and 65 do not have soils suitable for a septic system.   Terry said he would call property owner Nancy Tice and inform her of the decision.

 

Map 4 Lot 46-1 – Property owner Jesse Stetler had inquired about the land values as fire had destroyed his home several years ago.  The Board agreed to submit this for review by Mr. Caldwell.

 

Property Card Conversion – The board reviewed the progress made in the conversion to a more digital format for the property cards and will ask Mr. Caldwell for clarifications about the valuation process later in the month. 

 

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at approximately 8:50 AM.
