Minutes - March 9, 2022

 

The meeting came to order at 8:00 AM at the Lamoine Town Hall

 

Present were: Assessors Jane Fowler, Brian Thomas & Terry Towne

 

Minutes, February 2, 2022 – Terry moved to approve the minutes.  Brian 2nd.  Vote in favor was unanimous.

 

Abatement Request – Rosemary Crane – The board discussed the abatement request for Map 8 Lot 4-6 which was denied at the previous meeting.  There was no action taken to rescind the vote.

 

Abatement Request – John D. Ramsey Map 11 Lot 20-1 – Brian moved to deny the abatement because it was not filed in a timely manner.  Terry 2nd.  Vote in favor was unanimous.  Terry will write a letter to Mr. Ramsey.

 

Personal Property – Terry reported that he spoke with Maine Revenue Services who suggested that bills be sent to those who fail to return personal property forms.

 

Corrections – Terry moved to have Matt Caldwell of RJD Appraisal set a date to come to Lamoine to make property card corrections and handle several valuation review requests.  Brian 2nd.  Vote in favor was unanimous.

 

Spring work – Terry is doing property visits and photos; Brian is working on property cards, and Jane will begin work on transfers.

 

The personal property and gravel pit forms are ready to mail

 

Next Meeting – The next meeting will be on April 6, 2022 at 8AM.

 

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:23 AM.
