3. Browntail Moth Rapid
Response Team Update:
Larissa removed some
browntail moth nests from trees along Coley Cove Rd in Lamoine. She encouraged
us all to be on the
lookout for nests noting that winter was the best time to remove them. Once
removed they were placed in soapy water to destroy them.
4.
Community Resiliance
Partnership Action Grant:
This is part of Governor Mills’ Climate Action Plan and the grants are
available to towns across Maine. The grant application is due late March. There
is a set of requirements to be fulfilled in order to apply for a grant.
One is a draft self-assessment that Larissa worked on and shared with us.
There needs to be a community workshop, open to the public, to look at
the town’s climate infrastructure needs.
There will be guest speakers who will talk about the needs of the Lamoine
School, roads, Town Hall, etc. The Lamoine School gymnasium is available on
either Tuesday, February 8th or February 15th.
Larissa will contact the school and firm up the date.
The meeting will start at 7 PM and LCC members will help out at the
workshop. We will have our February
meeting after the workshop.
5.
Implementation of the LCC
responsibilities in the Lamoine Comprehensive Plan:
Kerry has volunteered to look at
the LCC responsibilites and whether we have done them yet and will we be able to
do them. We will present a
status report to the Select Board based on our assessment and note items for
which outside help would be needed.
6.
Conservation Award:
..... was chosen to receive the Lamoine Conservation Commission award at the
Lamoine Town Meeting on March 16, 2022.
Larissa will get the frames, contact Stu to update the plaque.
Linda will read the statement on March 16, 2022.
