Lamoine VFD members were called just before midnight to a motor vehicle accident on Douglas Highway. A single vehicle struck an apple tree leaving the lone occupant with severe injuries. LVFD personnel set up a landing zone at the Lamoine General Store (above), and the victim was transported by LifeFlight helicopter for treatment to Eastern Maine Medical Center. The crash is under investigation by the Maine State Police and the Hancock County Sheriff's Department.
