Call 2005-08 (February 10, 2005)

A snowy, slippery Douglas Highway (Route 184) was blamed for sending a Chevy Trailblazer operated by a Rabbit Run resident off the road and into a utility pole. The driver was alone in the vehicle and was not hurt, but the vehicle was badly damaged, as was the utility pole.
Fire Department personnel were on scene within 2-minutes of the initial call. A passing Hancock Firefighter saw the accident and called 911 on a cell phone. LVFD provided traffic control around the scene. At right, chief Skip Smith and FF Kermit Theall assist motorists stopped by the scene.
Bangor Hydro Electric Company, which is located just around the corner from the accident scene and sent four trucks and crews to the accident to replace the pole.
