Fire Call September 4, 2005

Lamoine VFD was called to 108 Douglas Highway for an electrical fire/smoke report. Response time was 9-minutes from the time of the tone. Upon arrival there was no smoke. The occupant of the mobile home said the smoke had come from the dryer area. Investigators found the dryer recepticle had melted, indicating a malfunction. LVFD and one Hancock VFD personnel used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there was no fire in the wall behind the dryer. The occupant was advised not to use the dryer and to call a qualified electrician to properly repair the cord and recepticle.
