Lamoine Fire Station Roof Replacement

The Town of Lamoine seeks proposals from qualified contractors to remove the existing asphalt shingled roofing from the Lamoine Fire Station at 43 Lamoine Beach Road and replace it with metal roofing.  The bid proposal shall include options for exposed fastener and hidden fastener construction.  The proposals are to include the following:

  • Removal and proper disposal of existing shingles
  • Roof inspection and additional charge estimate for replacement of any damaged plywood.
  • Installation of ice and water membrane at the eaves, extending 6-feet
  • Installation of a vapor barrier using synthetic roof paper to remainder of the roof
  • Install proper flashing at the chimney and wherever else required.
  • Identification of the metal roofing material to be used, including the gauge of the material.
  • Length of workmanship and materials warranty.

Proposals are to include proof of liability and workers compensation insurance.  Proposals are to be submitted to the Lamoine Select Board, 606 Douglas Hwy., Lamoine, ME  04605 no later than 4:00 PM on April 16, 2026.  Work is to be completed no later than August 31, 2026.  The Town of Lamoine reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals.

Request for Proposals – Energy Efficiency Improvements

The Town of Lamoine is accepting proposals for several energy efficiency projects being supported by a Community Action Grant awarded by the Maine Office of Community Affairs within the Community Resilience Partnership Program.

The following projects are contemplated, details are in each RFP (click on the project name for full RFP):

Code Enforcement Officer / Local Plumbing Inspector Opening

Code Enforcement Officer / Local Plumbing Inspector Sought

 

The Town of Lamoine seeks a qualified person to serve as the Code Enforcement Officer, Local Plumbing Inspector and Building Inspector.  The opening is a contracted, part-time position with negotiable compensation.  The Code Enforcement Officer must be certified by the State of Maine within one year of appointment.  The Plumbing Inspector must be certified by the State of Maine at the time of employment.

Annual Town Meeting – March 2026

The Annual Town Meeting will be held in two parts.  Election of Municipal Officers and School Committee members will be on March 10, 2026 from 8am to 8pm at the town hall.  The Open Town Meeting will be held on March 18, 2026 beginning at 6PM at the Lamoine School Gym.
